One was an 8x3m, a really popular compact pool since it doesn't require a council permit due to its volume being under 35,000 litres. The other was an 8x4.4m side entry pool. Both installations went really well, and the clients were fantastic – we were treated to endless coffees and cheese scones. Both ladies are avid swimmers and thrilled to have their own little watery paradise for laps. 2024 is filling up fast, so... We recently installed a pool where we could only fit a small 3-tonne digger into the backyard, requiring us to load a 1.5-tonne dumper to remove soil. This meant a normal 3-hour pool hole dig took 2 full days, but hey, we got there in the end 👍. It'll look amazing once the surroundings are fully tiled and finished, with mum and dad having a drink overlooking the Kerikeri inlet while watching the kids splash around in... It was a challenging job on a steep section with a lot of fill to dig through to reach hard ground. Luckily, our digger driver Corey is unreal on his machine and used big volcanic rocks found in the client's paddock to build retaining walls that hold the hillside together.
